In our dispensary, we stock three types of high quality product. The first two are pre-packaged herbal remedies and nutritional supplements, which are provided by large herbal suppliers. The third category comprises special remedies which are made by ITH practitioners and stored in the dispensary. There is a section for the Chinese herbs, one for naturopathic remedies and a third for commercial products. The Department of Herbal Studies at the University of Newcastle has advised about and contributed to the stocks in our dispensary.

The dispensary is used by our doctors, naturopath and TCM practioner. Through working and consulting with the complementary therapists, our GP’s knowledge of herbs is growing and they are increasingly using herbal remedies, either alone or as an adjunct to pharmaceutical medications.
