Listen To Your Body Before It Has To Shout
Michael Wilby - Massage Therapist
One of the greatest skills we can develop is body literacy, learning to recognise the early signs, that our body is asking for attention.
Too often we ignore tight shoulders, a stiff lower back, shallow breathing, fatigue, headaches, or poor sleep. These aren't inconveniences to push through; they're messages. The body is incredibly intelligent and is constantly communicating with us.
When we slow down and listen, we can respond before discomfort becomes chronic pain or burnout.
This week, take just five minutes each day to check in with yourself.
Ask:
• How am I breathing?
• Where am I holding tension?
• How is my posture
• What does my body need right now?
Sometimes the answer is movement. Sometimes it's rest. Sometimes it's a deep breath, a walk outside, or booking a massage to help release accumulated tension. Small, consistent actions often create the biggest changes over time. Remember, healing doesn't always begin with doing more, it often begins with becoming more aware.
Your body is always speaking. The question is: are we listening?
